A Ghost in My Shadow
I've spent the last few weeks rerecording tracks from my original demo, A Ghost in My Shadow. The demo was transferred from a cassette tape (which I titled A Loss for Words), which didn't have the greatest sound quality. The 13 tracks I put online a few years back have now all been redone, some even remodelled! I have more tracks from the original cassette to tackle, although some I may just allow to degrade into obscurity. It's actually quite a bit of work. The tracks done thus far:
- "Five (Ambiguous Friendships)" The sentiment behind these lyrics are pretty dated. I may go back and rewrite them to reflect something more recent.
- "Strivers for a Better Tomorrow" This song seems to get the attention of everyone who listens to it. It's a catchy tune, but I'm not sure how it would do nowadays.
- "Faith in Religion" Previously posted, but I've redone the drums.
- "Offertorium (from Dead Man's Mass)" One day, I'll dismantle the requiem I wrote in high school and set new lyrics to some of the better songs in the work. Or I may just leave it alone and pick the best parts out for an EP.
- "Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow (Sacred Hearts 1991)" It scares me to think I could possibly sell this song to country radio.
- "Beat of the Heart" Also previously posted, but I changed the ambient noise in the background to something hopefully less distrasting. I may have to bring down the levels a bit though.
- "No Exit" Man, I need a guitarist. This song still doesn't sound the way it should.
I'll continue to sift through the archives, and I may even work on songs I've sketched out a long time ago but never managed to record. Enjoy!
